NWBC for Windows 8.1

$

I'm testing NWBC 4 on Windows 8.1 and it installs just fine, but when I try to connect to a system, the login window has all the fields grayed out and the alert at the top saying "You are calling this Web site with a browser that is not supported".

Windows 8.1 comes with Internet Explorer 11. I've tried NWBC 4 up to patch level 10 but get the same message.

I've checked https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1707623 for upcoming patches of NWBC but it doesn't say what fixes it might have. Also the SAP note for currently released patches telling what's been fixed (https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1707626) doesn't mention anything about Windows 8.1.

My company is evaluating what we'd need to address before rolling out Windows 8.1 and this is what I'm assigned to look into.

Thanks,

Integrating CRM Employee Interaction Center in NWBC

I'm not sure if I should post this question here or in the NWBC space. I'll try here first and see.

Update: After trying over on the CRM space I've moved it back to the NWBC space to see if I get any response.

I am looking for anyone with any experience integrating CRM EIC into the NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC). I have a scenario where we have HR Administrators using both NWBC and the EIC. I'd like to provide them a consistent user experience, ideally allowing them to access the EIC from NWBC and then drill back into ECC from the EIC using the capabilities of NWBC. The problem is that if you embed EIC into NWBC you end up with double headers and double menus... (it looks bad). At the very least I'd like to remove the "Interaction Center" banner, without losing the functionality.. Personalise, System News, Log Off.

crm_eic_1.png

Figure 1: CRM EIC embedded inside NWBC

Then when you are processing an employee in EIC sometimes you will drill back down into ECC (e.g. Personnel Administration) and by default EIC uses the WebGUI which in my opinion is a poor user experience. These users have access to Personnel Administration in NWBC via the Windows GUI - that's what they like, so that's what I want to give them.

crm_eic_2.png

Figure 2: SAP WebGUI embedded inside CRM EIC which is embedded inside NWBC

I suppose we can just open the EIC in a new window, but IMO an integrated solution like SAP should be able to provide a better user experience than that.

I know there are some other ways to call specific CRM Objects but I am not sure that would work in this scenario: Integrating CRM WebClient into NWBC - SAP NetWeaver Business Client - SAP Library

Please add any thoughts/comments/suggestions below.

Thanks,

Simon

NWBC - Object Based Navigation Issues

Hi,

We are having some issues with OBN and nwbc in SRM. Mainly when we are trying to display documents.

We are also using the standard SRM roles - when we try to display a document via an email link we get

"PDO layer error"

(Eg: Purchase Order)

The email link is formatted as follows

http://srmsystem/nwbc/srm/~canvas;window=app/obn/po.display/?sap-client=500&SAPSRM_BOID=005056AA1D2…

The display purchase order link is configured (by default) as

webdynpro: /SAPSRM/WDA_L_FPM_OIF

app config: /SAPSRM/WDAC_I_FPM_OIF_PO_PURCH

Paramters:

sapsrm_mode : display

sapsrm_botype: bus2201

obn navigation parameters:

Object type : po

Method : display

Parameters

SAPSRM_BOID  {SAPSRM_BOID}

etc etc

The BOID parameter does not seem to be getting resolved by the OBN method, when i get the PDO layer error message i can right click and see BOID is blank in the parameters.

We also have the exact same issue with confirmations displaying.

If i go into the Web dynpro application and actually hardcode the BOID it works ok, it doesn't seem to pick the parameter up when its defined under the OBN method.

Our current solution at the moment is to change the email and workflow to edit the URL generated by sap to

http://srmsystem/sap/bc/webdynpro/sapsrm/wda_l_fpm_oif?sap-....................

Which works fine

I've implemented notes 1749594 and 2061880

I've raised the issue with SAP a few weeks ago and looks like they're stumped aswell. Anybody have any ideas?

Tony

Hi,

I know that the NWBC can be accessed through the t-code NWBC. But I want to access the NWBC HTML through the URL. I have tried accessing through the URL that I got by using the NWBC t-code. But it doesn't seems to be working. It works only when I am logged into to the ECC session, if not it's throwing me the error. Can you please let me know what am I missing here?

Hi, Does anyone know how can I get the code running behind CHIPS? I thought it was part of a webdynpro component. When running MDGC 7 I open the Side Panel for Customer ( Sales Orders For Customer ) but there is not data available. How can I debug and understand where this potential data is coming from?

Thank you,

NWBC - New Tab instead of window

$

Hi Experts,

I am using NWBC4.0 Desktop client and I am facing issues with the code written to launch a new session using RFC Enabled function module (Call Transaction in FM code) with Start New Task. With SAP GUI its fine, but in NWBC Desktop client It opens the new Window instead of a new tab.

Q1.

Is there any ways i can open it in a new tab ?

Q2.

On new window, i cant see any tab or input field to enter the SAP transaction as i get on the standard NWBC first window. Any specif reason and how to resolve this ?

Q3

How do i get to know how many tabs are open and what are the details of all the tabs like tcode etc.

SAP NWBC5 with SAP GUI 740 upgrade from NWBC4

Hi Experts,

while upgrading to SAP GUI 740 and NWBC5.0 from GUI 730 and NWBC 4.0 we are encountered issues on configuration file.

presently we are using SAP GUI 730 and NWBC 4.0 and upgrading to SAP GUI 740 with NWBC 5.0.In this process i am seeing config files are not properly migrating.

when i try to add or access any message server load balancing entries it's not working as expected. 7.40 SAPGui with NWBC5 installation has Config file migration issues.

1.If you install SAPGUI740 with NWBC5.0 it will use Config file as “SAPUILandscape.xml” and while update migration tool supposed to copy saplogon.ini and NWBCOptions.XML file . During the Migration Process it’s  not copying all the files, It only brings the information from custom application entry from old SAPGUI and has issues updating Group/Server entry’s.

When we tried to access Load Balancing system will see below message. error parsing SAP GUI command line '/FULLMENU SNC_PARTNERNAME="xx" SNC_QOP=9 /UPDOWNLOAD_CP=2' After adding SNC_PARTNERNAME and SNC_QOP in  SAPUILandscape.xml  will give same error without SNC_PARTNERNAME and SNC_QOP.i tried to edit this Config file entries from saplogon.ini  but still it’s not picking, And also it’s not updating the existing NWBC4.0 version, It’s creation new NWBC5.0

2.If you install SAPGUI 740 without NWBC5.0 it uses existing saplogon.ini as a configuration file and updating GUI version to 7.40. Now I am able to access message server load balancing  system and see all the SNC and Logon Entries.

3.If you install NWBC5.0 separate it is not updated existing NWBC4.0 but it’s created NWBC50 folder separate, How can i bring the SAP GUI 730 and NWBC 4.0 to one common SAPGUI 740 & NWBC5.0. Regards Janakiram

NWBC Single SignOn to BI 4.1 (Infoview & Opendocs)

$

I'm trying to find the correct way to setup single sign-on in NWBC.   We don't have SAP Single Sign-On installed

Here is what I want to have  happen:

1) User logs into NWBC using SAP credentials

2) User clicks an opendocument URL that links to a crystal report published on my BI 4.1 server

3) The report should open in the NWBC tab without asking the user to log into BI

Here is what I have setup so far:

1) I've created the links in PFCG to the opendocuments

2) I've setup my authentication in CMC to use SAP authentication

Now i'm not sure what to setup next.  I'm still getting asked to log into CMC directly.

I posted this a few years ago - but didn't really understand the responses.

Thanks!

SAP GUI failed to start transaction

I have encountered an error with NWBC where it fails to start transactions.  The SAP GUI works fine as does the HTML version of NWBC; however, the desktop version returns the below error for any transaction code.  Has anyone seen this issue before?

NWBC Themes failing to render properly

Hello all,

We are having trouble rendering our NWBC theme properly.

SAP_BASIS 740SP07

SAP_UI 740 SP10

URversion: 7.33.3.81.0

NWBC Runtime version is 42

We've applied quite a few notes to keep things updated to try and fix this issue for SAP_UI, NWBC Runtime, URversion, etc.

Symptoms:

URL Parameter sap-theme=<theme> does not reflect, changes in NWBC_CFG does not reflect, either for 3.5.x or 3.6 (/ui2/nwbc). But "Welcome_message" parameter does change and show.

We just want to use standard sap_corbu in 3.5.x and we cannot get it to render properly. We see Launchpad Navigation 1 and Launchpaid Navigation blank links at the top and bottom of our side panel

We are seeing "masthead" and "end of masthead" in the title bar of our nwbc screens.

The theme never changes from the blue and silver with "SAP Business Client" basics.

It seems like the baseline "shell" is overriding or never getting updated by our configuration changes.

Any help is appreciated!

NWBC 4.0 The Flash control is not responding.

Hi all,

Since our upgrade to SAP ECC 6 EHP 7, we encounter several issues with our NWBC 4.0

We use SAPgui 7.30 patch 9 and

NWBC 4.0 patch 13

When going to a screen inside the NWBC where it usually loads several KPI's , the screen now stays blank, enad we get the error message in the top of the screen:
The Flash control is not responding. Possibly the Java plug-in of the browser is deactivated or not installed.

Hence that we did not change anything on our frontends regarding Java versions etc.

All users are experiencing this at the moment.

I tried deinstalling Java 7 sp 55, and went back to Java 7 patch 9 without succes.
Java scripting is still enabled in the browser (IE 11), en the flash pluging is also enabled.

Any ideas on where to look for the solution ?

Best regards,

Menno

SAPGUI Logon issue after Upgrade to NWBC 5.0

Hi

We installed the NWBC 5.0 & SAPGUI 7.40 upgrade. The NWBC 5.0 works fine; however when we try to the "normal" SAPGUI login via the SAP Logonpad, we got the error message window "Error Parsing SAP GUI Command line ....."  (see print screen attach below).

I am assuming that this is due to new\missing config entries in the SAPUILandscape.xml in the Appdata\Roaming directory (???). I would thought the conversion from saplogon.ini to SAPUILandscape.xml happens automatically, is anybody aware as if manual intervention is still necessary.

POWL: User creates a new query - Does it always save the last entered values? And is this standard functionality?

$

Hiya,

From your experience how would you say user defined queries work?

Okay let's say we have a POWL and the user decides to create their own query via the 'Define New Query' button.

They create a new POWL query, with specific selection criteria, and it works great.

Uh-oh, one day they accidentally run the new query with some bogus selection criteria that the user doesn't want.

The new POWL query seems to remember the last entered selection criteria and always shows that to the user.

And there seems to be no way of going back to the orginal selection criteria of the user's POWL query?

Is this standard POWL functionality for user defined queries?

i.e. That whatever the user last enters into the selection criteria, is also what will appear hence forth, and not the criteria that was entered when the user created their query?

Thanks in advance for any help!

URL link to open transaction in NWBC Desktop client

Hi!

I am trying to create an URL link to open a transaction in a role that I am using.

The webpage is shown in a web-chip as a part of FPM page inthe NWBC desktop client.

I have tried this type of concept: https://serverXX:8000/sap/bc/nwbc/~canvas/roleEntry/MyROLE:56/

The problem is that this opens the transaction in the HTML version of NWBC (inside NWBC desktop client).

However, I would do not want to use the HTML based version of the transaction. I want to use nativ abap transaction inside NWBC Desktop client.

I am able to open the transaction with a link from a webbrowser with this type of link:

sap-nwbc://https://serverXX:8000/sap/bc/nwbc/~canvas/roleEntry/MyROLE:56/

This link does not open at all from within NWBC....

How do I achieve opening a transaction via URL from inside the NWBC Desktop client?

SSO with NWBC for HTML

$

Dear All,

This is the first time i ever have an opportunity to work on NWBC. My company wants to implement SSO using NWBC for HTML and not interested in using any AS JAVA components or SAP Netweaver SSO product.

Requirement/Background:

We are going live with HR/PAYROLL and ESS/MSS. The requirement is that users  will use NWBC for HTML to login into backend system(ECC 6.0 EHP5 on Windows /SQL 2008)  and print their payslip and do all allowed activities in ESS/MSS functionality.

( I realised from EHP5 we do not require Portal to implement ESS/MSS)

AIM:

Company wants to implement single sign on using NWBC for HTML to achieve the above requirement. At the moment users have to change their password every 30 days in production system.Since most of the users logs in only once in a month to print their payslips ,there is always a chance for them  to forget their password or system will prompt to change the password due to 30  day password change restriction, therefore we will get thousands of calls related to password reset every month end. To avoid this we want to implement SSO.

Note: If we can achieve SSO then we can disable or make changes to the password expiry parameter

My Thoughts:

Based on the requirement all i can think of is to authenticate the users at desktop level (AD) and then by clicking on the NWBC link they should be able to login into the backend system automatically, based on the roles assigned to them , they will be able to perform their activities. We can apply the password restrictions at AD level and users only have to remember one password.

I would really appreciate if any one can guide me through in achieving this. We are open for any suggestions.

Thank You

Raj

Hi,

When I open NWBC for HTML in IE 10, I get a warning saying "The standards mode is not supported for document modes less than 8 (Note 1970689)".

If I hit 'Ignore', everything is fine. How can I get rid of this error?

Thanks
